New Study: "Aiding Conflict: The Impact of U.S. Food Aid on Civil War"

Economists Nancy Qian of Yale University and Nathan Nunn of Harvard University have published a new study suggesting that US food aid increases the incidence, onset and duration of civil conflicts in recipient countries. The authors argue that it is time for donors to become more selective about food aid contributions, paying attention to context and the conflicts it could fuel. Click here to read the study.
