About PCHPA
Who/What is the Partnership?
The Partnership is a group of US and African experts who believe that agriculture-led economic growth will play a critical role in cutting hunger and poverty in Africa.
What we do
We seek and promote the best ways for public, private and civil sector organizations in the US (and other donor countries) to contribute towards building healthy rural economies in Africa.
Why we do it
We believe that the best way it can contribute to Africa’s development is to influence the practices of donor country governments and organizations so they are better aligned with African needs and initiatives.
How we do it
We improve donor organizations’ and the business community’s response to rural Africa by:
- Convening US and African experts from public and private sector organizations to identify practical ways to address problems and opportunities in rural Africa
Advocating for these ideas to be implemented by US and global decision-makers - Working with African leaders to align donor and African national policies and practices.
Our Primary Target Audiences
We target US-based organizations whose policies and programs are relevant for rural Africa. This includes: US bilateral and multilateral donor agencies, Congress, US-based and global investors and businesses, and the US NGO sector.
Our Supporters
We are mainly funded by US-based foundations, plus limited support from government agencies, members and sponsors.
